4 Days Mardi Himal Trek Overview

The 4 Days Mardi Himal Trek is a short but adventurous Himalayan trekking package in Nepal’s beautiful Annapurna region. It is designed for travelers who have limited time but still want to experience spectacular mountain views, peaceful forests, high-altitude landscapes, and the impressive Mardi Himal Base Camp. Starting from Pokhara, this short trek takes you from the lower green hills to the high Himalayan ridge beneath Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

The 4 Days Mardi Himal Trek begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Kande, followed by a challenging uphill walk through forests and mountain trails toward Forest Camp. The lower section of the route passes through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests, with peaceful surroundings and occasional views of the Annapurna mountains. Forest Camp, located at around 2,550 m, provides a comfortable overnight stop before the trek continues toward higher elevations.

On the second day, the trail climbs from Forest Camp toward High Camp (around 3,580 m). As you gain altitude, the dense forest gradually becomes thinner and the trail opens onto a spectacular mountain ridge. From High Camp, you can enjoy impressive views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Mardi Himal. Sunrise and sunset from the ridge can be particularly beautiful when the weather is clear.

The biggest adventure of this Mardi Himal Trek comes on Day 3. You will start early from High Camp and hike toward Mardi Himal Base Camp, reaching approximately 4,500 m. The trail follows the high ridge and provides increasingly impressive views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After enjoying the scenery and taking photographs at Base Camp, you will descend through High Camp toward Low Camp for the night. This is the most demanding day of the itinerary because of both the altitude and the long walking distance.

The final day takes you downhill from Low Camp toward Siding, or toward Kande depending on the selected route and local trail conditions. Siding is a traditional mountain settlement and provides road access toward Pokhara. After reaching the roadhead, you will drive back to Pokhara, completing your 4 Days Mardi Himal Trek. The route therefore combines high mountain scenery with forests, villages and a scenic return through the lower hills.

Overall, the 4 Days Mardi Himal Trek is best suited to travelers who want a compact and physically active Himalayan adventure. Although the itinerary is short, it reaches a high altitude and includes long uphill and downhill sections. Good physical fitness, comfortable trekking shoes, proper clothing and a steady walking pace are important for enjoying the trek safely.
