This short trek includes the major highlights of the Annapurna Circuit along with a visit to the famous Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world.
The journey begins from Kathmandu and continues to Besisahar and Chame by road. From Chame, the trekking trail starts through beautiful forests, rivers, and traditional villages. You will walk through places like Pisang and Manang, where you can experience the unique culture and lifestyle of the Himalayan people.
One of the most special parts of this trek is visiting Tilicho Lake (4,919 meters). The lake is surrounded by snow-covered mountains and offers stunning views with peaceful surroundings. The journey to Tilicho Base Camp and the lake itself is adventurous and rewarding.
As you continue the trek, you will move toward Thorong Phedi and then cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters). This is the highest point of the trek and one of the most challenging sections. The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking and make the effort worthwhile.
After crossing the pass, you will descend to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site. The trek ends with a scenic drive to Pokhara, where you can relax after completing this incredible journey.

9 Days Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake Itinerary
Expand AllToday, you will begin your journey toward the Annapurna region. After breakfast in Kathmandu, you will drive to Besisahar by tourist bus, which takes around 6–7 hours and covers approximately 175 km. From Besisahar, you will continue your journey by jeep to Chame, which takes another 3–4 hours over a rough mountain road. Along the way, you will pass rivers, waterfalls, terraced fields, and small villages. Upon reaching Chame, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain surroundings while preparing for the trek ahead.
Today, your trekking journey begins. You will walk for about 5–6 hours, covering approximately 13 km. The trail follows the Marsyangdi River and passes through pine forests and small settlements. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. As you gain altitude, the air becomes cooler and fresher. After reaching Upper Pisang, you can explore the peaceful village and enjoy the mountain scenery.
Today’s trek takes around 5–6 hours and covers about 16 km. The trail offers two routes, and the upper route is more scenic with wide mountain views. You will pass through traditional villages and dry landscapes as you move deeper into the Himalayan region. As you reach Manang, you will notice the change in climate and terrain. Manang is a beautiful village where trekkers often stop to acclimatize.
Today, you will leave the main Annapurna Circuit trail and head toward Tilicho Lake. The trek takes about 4–5 hours and covers around 10 km. The trail becomes narrower and more rugged, with landslide-prone sections. You will walk through alpine landscapes with amazing mountain views. Shree Kharka is a quiet place where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Today’s trek is more challenging and takes around 5–6 hours, covering approximately 11 km. The trail is narrow and crosses landslide areas, so careful walking is required. The views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking throughout the journey. After reaching Tilicho Base Camp, you can rest and prepare for the early morning hike to the lake.
Today is a long but rewarding day. You will start early in the morning and hike for about 3–4 hours to reach Tilicho Lake (4,919 m), one of the highest lakes in the world. After enjoying the peaceful and stunning views, you will return to base camp and continue trekking toward Yak Kharka. The total walking time is around 7–8 hours, covering approximately 15 km. The day is tiring but full of unforgettable scenery.
Today’s trek is shorter, taking about 4–5 hours and covering around 7 km. The trail gradually ascends through high-altitude landscapes with fewer trees and more open terrain. You will reach Thorong Phedi, which is the base camp for crossing Thorong La Pass. It is important to rest well and prepare for the next day.
Today is the most challenging and important day of the trek. You will start very early in the morning and hike for about 7–9 hours, covering approximately 15 km. The climb to Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) is steep and demanding, but the views from the top are breathtaking. After spending some time at the pass, you will descend to Muktinath, a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.
Today, you will drive from Muktinath to Pokhara by bus or jeep. The journey takes around 7–9 hours and covers approximately 160 km. The road passes through the Kali Gandaki Valley, offering views of mountains, rivers, and villages. Upon reaching Pokhara, you can relax and celebrate the successful completion of your trek.
